The Emerging Leader is not one of those theoretical courses you send people to for 5 days in the hope that they will become a better leader. It's a challenging and immersive learning experience that delivers real world results.
The transition from an individual contributor to a manager is one of the biggest challenges most leaders will face in their career... It's a challenge that will result in a 30 - 50 per cent drop in performance by 50 - 70 percent of new managers.

The Emerging Leader is a tried and tested program that has been running for over a decade. It is designed for new, or recently appointed people managers, team leads and high potentials who are responsible for managing and leading others.

What You Will Learn

The Emerging Leader is a unique blended learning program that provides the experience, knowledge and skills needed to take on the day-to-day challenges of leadership. You will gain:

  • Leadership fundamentals and pragmatic tools to become a more impactful leader.
  • Heightened awareness and understanding of yourself and others.
  • A shift in mindset towards more intentional leadership!

How You Will Learn

The Emerging Leader is a challenging and immersive learning experience that delivers real world results. Over the course of 6 months you will:

  • Participate in 3 workshops, 3 coaching labs and an assessment centre. 
  • Complete 3 action plans, 3 knowledge assessments, a leadership brand and journal, a before and after 360 degree survey and a psychometric assessment.
All of which is underpinned by an online library of articles and pre-recorded lectures that can be accessed anywhere anytime.

How do I make the most out of this learning opportunity? How do I access all the online pre-learning? How do I connect with my learning peers? How do I get my manager to support me on the journey? Who should I invite to be a rater for my 360 degree survey? These are some of the questions that will be answered at Kickstart.

Graduation Requirements & Certificate

To successfully graduate from the program and become a Northpoint Certified Leader (Level 1), learners will need to:

  • Attend 3 virtual workshops (24 Hours)
  • Attend 3 virtual coaching labs (6 hours)
  • Complete 3 action plans
  • Complete a leadership development journal and plan
  • Pass 3 knowledge assessments with a score of 100%
  • Pass a final assessment centre with a score of 70% or more
A certificate and digital badge will be awarded upon successfully completing the above requirements.

Jim is a Professional Certified Coach and the Founder and Chief Learning Officer for Northpoint. 

Jim is incredibly passionate about leadership, and believes that it is so much more than productivity scores and numbers on a P&L. He has been coaching leaders, running leadership programs and writing about leadership for over a decade, and backs it up with over 20 years ‘real world’ experience in the media industry.

John is a Professional Certified Coach and a co-facilitator at Northpoint.

John is passionate about people. He has been coaching leaders and running leadership programs for over a decade and brings with him more than 30 years experience in building, leading, and transforming global IT organisations.
